CLASS A: HL#8 Fremont boys, Marian girls win
Class A Girls: Omaha
Marian put five runners into the top seventeen and easliy won the team
title with 51 points with Millard West second with 101. Millard
North was third with 114. Jill Stahlecker (Burke-Omaha) won the individual
title with a 15:56 over 4k with Tiffany Bence (Millard North) second
at 16;03. Kathryn Kersenbrock (16:03) and Katie Kelly (16:13)
led Marian in 3-5, with Brittany Poole (Millard West 16:13) in fourth.
Fremont, led by the 1-2 finish of Brian Parr and Jeff Grassmeyer,
won the Class A Boys title
with 52 points, with Kearney second with 75. North Star-Lincoln
was third with 95.
Parr (16;03) and Grassmeyer (16;14) ran 1-2 with a pair of sophomores,
Todd Guliza (Millard South 16:19) and Matthew Conahan (Millard North
16:27) in 3-4 and Eric Noel (North Star-Lincoln) fifth at 16:39

CLASS B: Scottsbluff boys, Pius X girls dominate
Scottsbluff romped to the Class
B Boys state title with 27 points, putting all five scorers into
the top twenty and two into the top ten. Gering was second with
51 points, and Piux X-Lincoln third with 71. Plattsmouth freshman
Adam Mitieus made his first state meet an exciting one, winning with
a time of 16:46 with Scottsbluff's Michael McKinney second at 16:49
and Andrew Laflin (Norris) a close third at 16:50. Miguel Macias
(Lexington) was fourth at 16:55 and David Adams (York) fifth at 16:59
Piux X-Lincoln also won in a romp, taking the Class
B Girls title with 21 points. Seward (71) and York (73) were
second and third.
Boone Central freshman Ashlynn Bader roared over
the 4k course, winning in 15:29, with Alexandria Nelson leading Pius
X in second at 15;37. Jordyn Giddings (Ralston) was third at 15:57,
with Heather Kulmann (Nebraska City 16;00) and Kate Dibbern (York 16:06)
rounding out the top five.
