Klein anchor Eric Stanley

The race began quick as Willis shot out to the lead with a 58 second first
400m. That was short lived as Darren Brown of Klein made up ground on the
last lap of the 1200m to run a solid 3:05.6 and give Klein a lead it would
never relinquish. A 50.8 on the 400m maintained their lead. They followed
with a 2:00.5. The final leg was left to Eric Stanley. Stanley effortlessly
toured the first 400m in 58. A 63 next lap put him at 2:01. He still looked
effortless, but by the third the fast pace seemed to get to him. He entered
the third lap in 3:08, 67. He tried his best to hold on as the speakers
blared that they were on pace to beat the Woodland's meet record time from
last year. He slowed, but still ran a respectable 4:13.5 and got the record.
Behind him, Reagan, Lockhart and Lamar were in a tight battle. Reagan came
out on top as only a second separated the three.

" It was fun. It's always fun watching Stan run. He's amzing. We came out to
beat the Woodland's record last year, but fell short and finished second.
It's kind of nice to get it finally this year. [On the competition]
Definitely, there's a lot of strong competition in the area. It's insane
growing up in Houston. I wouldn't have it any other way. [ On winning by a
large margin] No, not at all. You always expect someone to come out of this
area. Especially from other states when they come down. It's such a big
meet.[ On how it feels to win] Awesome awesome. We've been waiting a long
time.
