Quieto Teasley gives Cinco Ranch come from behind win

Scott Sellers is more than just an amazing high jumper. The Cinco Ranch
Track Club/Katy, Texas senior is also a heck of a sprinter, good enough to be
candidate for Cinco's 4x200 team.

But he sat this one out as Cinco Ranch won this four-lapper in 1:29.76,
fourth best winning time in Nike annals, running with Trevor Gerland, Ezekial
Jordan, Andrew Usoro and Quieto Teasley

"It feels great (to win)," said Teasley, who stormed through to win it.
"We worked hard and it paid off in the end. I guess we work hard enough.

"I told my teammates that I refused to go home ringless. There was no way I
was going to let my team down. I had to reach up and reach down to grab it
out.
"
Did a falling competitor change the complexion of the race?
"No, I wasn't even worried about them," said Teasley. "I was worried about
myself. I don't have anything to say about that."
Obviously, Cinco Ranch has a lot of pride in its sprints and relays.
"1:29.76, it feels pretty good," he said. "I think we would have broken the
record, but I saw this big black banner. I thought something was wrong with
my eyes so I slowed down."
Over-all, he called his meet "pretty good."
"Last year I ran the 200m and didn't make the finals. This year I came
here and finished fifth, so I had a good day."

Bethel VA 1:40.59

Bethel Track Club/Hampton, Va. came in with 1:39.35 credentials and went
home with a 1:40.59 triumph over Virginia rival Hermitage Track Club of
Richmond, hard on the Bethel heels in 1:41.04.
Bethel ran with Crystal Carrington, Shakirra Pinnock, Essynce Roberts
and Francena McCorory
McCorory's big anchor did it.
"Thanks," she said. "It was kind of shaky at the beginning. Every one of
my teammates did well. I'm really proud of our entire team, really. Everyone
held up on their own. That's all we needed.
"This is Nationals so everyone is good. I just ran to the best of my
ability."
A 23.4 on the anchor was announced, pretty quick. She was really going for
it.
"It didn't feel like 23," she said.
To win a National championship, what does that mean to your team?
Said McCorory: "This is our first one so we are very excited about it.
I can't wait to go home and celebrate.
"I think we had a pretty good chance. I knew everyone was going to pull
through. Everyone ran excellent. We knew if every one ran well, we could win it."
Second in the individual 60 final (7.57) back of Sarah Matthew, she roared
back for relay gold.
"(The 60 was) so-so; I didn't like my race in the 60, but this makes up for
it."
