1998 Connecticut State Meet

 

CIAC Open  (11/6/98 at Wickham Park, Manchester CT)

Boys - Ren Provey, Fairfield, finished an undefeated season by beating Ethan Kearns, Ridgefield, for the fifth time this year.  Provey's 15:44, only one second ahead of Kearns, broke a 14-year-old course record.  Team winner was Fitch 77 (10-12-13-14-28), with Fairfield Prep 83 (4-8-17-25-29) second.

Girls - Jessica Schenk, Fitch 15:13, also the Connecticut 3200 meter outdoor champ last spring; Fairfield 135 (14-16-19-34-52).

Top 25 individuals and top 6 teams move on to the New England Championships.
