The 1997 class championships were held in cold, rainy and muddy condition=
s
at Wickham Park in Manchester. This required a course change and led to
some interesting results. Fairfield Prep upset nationally ranked
Xavier-Middletown in the boys' LL championship. The top ranked E.O.Smith
girls dominated their class MM division winning by 91 points. The class
champions and runner-up teams qualify for the state open championship mee=
t
next Friday at the same location. Other teams listed also have qualified
for Friday's state open by meeting either a pre-established qualifying ti=
me
or by being the next 8 fastest teams.
