Being Eligible For The ELIGIBILITY, NATIONAL/STATE SANCTIONS The Arcadia Invitational is not an all-comers meet, but rather an officially recognized interscholastic (high school) meet where all participants must represent their high school of attendance and wear the high school uniform when competing. Athletes are not allowed to compete "unattached" at Arcadia.Being that the Arcadia Invitational is traditionally an interstate and international affair, meet management secures both a national and an international sanction through the National Federation of State High School Associations, which governs high school athletics in the United States. Additionally, the meet is sanctioned locally by the CIF-State Federation, the governing body for high school athletic competition in the state of California. Finally, the meet is also sanctioned by USA Track & Field, our sport’s governing body within the United States of America. The Arcadia Invitational Committee submits sanction requests to these bodies well in advance of the meet, usually approximately 90 days before the contest. Sanctions are sought for most of the 50 American states, as well as such foreign nations as Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Please understand that sanctions traditionally are not granted for all 50 states, as some state federations have either full restrictions of limitations on interstate travel and competition. If you have any concerns about your own state’s policies, we recommend you contact us at the email address below, and we will contact your state federation, sharing our policies/procedures for the meet. We have been fortunate to find that some state federations have made exceptions in the past so long as our meet management guarantees adherence to a particular state’s guideline requests.Direct all sanction inquiries to: ArcadiaInvite@aol.com
