I appreciate the writer going in depth about the impact Kristen had on his community and how his senseless death left. dreams unfulfilled. It saddens me to read how such a promising young man could be cut down in an instant.  This is a story I will remember. As a mom of a black boy, I carry a certain amount of fear, even when I'm doing everything I am able to keep my son safe. I see myself in Kristen's mom, which frightens me. I pray we can uplift one another and teach our young people to choose life.
