The IAAF Invites Seven Russian Athletes to Compete at IAAF World Indoor ChampionshipsBy Adam Kopet Thomas Giles of Inside the Games reports the IAAF has invited seven Russian athletes to compete at the IAAF World Indoor Championships under authorized neutral status. Most notable among the seven are the high jumpers Maria Lasitskene and Danil Lysenko. Lasitskene won the high jump at the 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships. She holds the world lead at 6-8.25 (2.04m) and has won 36 consecutive meets. Lysenko has the second-best men's clearance in the world at 7-9.25 (2.37m). The other invited Russian athletes include triple jumpers Viktoriya Prokopenko and Anna Krylova, pole vaulters Anzhelika Sidorova and Olga Mullina and shot putter Maksim Afonin. More news |
