Half Marathon World Record Could Fall in CopenhagenBy Adam Kopet The world record for the half marathon could be in jeopardy in Copenhagen, according to Alberto Stretti. He reports Abraham Cheroben of Bahrain and Eric Kiptanui of Kenya will be chasing the record Sept. 16 at the Copenhagen Half Marathon in September. Cheroben is the defending champion and he finished second at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in March. He ran his best time last year in Copenhagen in 58:40. But it is Kiptanui with his eyes most set on a fast time. He ran 58:42 to win April's Berlin Half Marathon. Also in the race is Alex Korio of Kenya with a personal best of 58:51. More news |
