Bronze medals for Efraimson, Selmon
Impressive qualifiers in G-LJ, G-200, relays

TOP HIGHLIGHTS

  • G-1500m Final: 4:16.07 BRONZE MEDAL run by Camas WA jr Alexa Efraimson (already US#3 4:16.00), ahead of US#5 4:23.75 by San Lorenzo Valley CA jr Anna Maxwell in 8th. Efraimson is the 2nd highest finisher for Team USA in 1500 behind Jordan Hasay (2nd 2007)
  • B-400m Hurdles Final: 51.30 BRONZE MEDAL run by Pace Academy GA jr Kenny Selmon (already US#3 50.90). It's the third bronze and 7th medal overall for Team USA in 400H. Hoover AL jr Marlon Humphrey DNS (reported back injury)
  • G-Long Jump Qualifying: 20-8.5(+1.6w) by Harvard Westlake CA frosh Courtney Corrin (already US#1 21-0) and 20-6.25(+1.3w) by Mt. Olive NJ jr Keturah Orji (already US#3 20-7.25). Only Jennifer Clayton has jumped further for Team USA in LJ qualifying (20-10.75 in 2009) and it's the 2nd time two Americans have reached the final
  • G-200m Dash Semis: 23.19(+0.0w) by Long Beach Poly CA jr Ariana Washington (just .01 off her US#2 23.18) to win SF1 of 3 (1st overall), and 23.63(-3.1w) by Hannah Cunliffe WA (already US#6 23.54) for 2nd in SF3 (4th overall), both advancing to final. Washington's time was 3rd best ever by an American at WYC

  • G-400m Hurdles Final: 59.74 for Creekview TX soph Samantha Gonzalez for 5th (already US#7 59.66 from heats)
  • B-Discus Final: 196-6 for Liberty NV jr Reno Tuufuli in 7th. He improved his Trials best by 15 inches
  • B-Triple Jump Final: 50-8.25(+1.4w) by El Paso Burges TX jr KeAndre Bates for 9th (already US#2 51-6.25)
  • G-Pole Vault Final: 12-11 by Justin Northwest TX jr Desiree Freier in 9th, ahead of Grapevine TX soph Zoe McKinley 12-5 in 11th.
  • G-Heptathlon Final: 5,200 pts. for Lawrence Free State KS jr Alexa Harmon-Thomas in 16th, after 2nd day of 2:21.99 800 (10th), 70-9 JT (38th) and 19-3.5 LJ, +0.5w (3rd). She improved her Trials PR by 16 pts.


MORE QUALIFYING

  • G-Swedish Medley Relay Qualifying: 2:07.13 for Team USA to win H3 of 3 (1st overall), advancing to final.
  • B-Swedish Medley Relay Qualifying: 1:52.19 for Team USA to win H3 of 3 (2nd overall by .01), advancing to final.
  • B-Discus Qualifying: 188-2 for Liberty NV jr Reno Tuufuli for 10th overall, advancing to final. 179-4 for Crespi CA jr Amir Ali Patterson for 16th overall, did not advance
  • B-200m Dash Semis: 21.58(-2.5w) for T.C. Williams VA frosh Noah Lyles for 4th in SF2 of 3 (8th overall), did not advance (SF3 winner was slower, but advanced automatically)
