RESULTS

In Anchorage Saturday, the two dominant athletes of the Alaskan high school cross country season won Class 4A state titles.

Levi Thomet of Kodiak ran 15:11 on the Bartlett Trails course to win the boys championship race by 56 seconds. According to the Anchorage Daily News, Thomet actually caught and passed the lead bicycle going up a hill. The junior is already drawing comparisions to all-time state greats Doug Herron, Don Clary and Trevor Dunbar.

Allie Ostrander of Kenai was no less impressive, running 17:50 to win her race by 68 seconds.

West Anchorage took the Class 4A girls championship and West Valley (Fairbanks) won the boys title.

In the 3A/2A/1A races, Briahna Gerlach of Glenallen won the individual title in 18:35; Daniel Servanti of Grace Christian won the boys race in 16:21 and led his team to the title. Grace also won the girls title by placing 7 through 11.
