Dior Hall of Denver's George Washington could be poised to break the national record in the girls 60-meter hurdles very soon.
On Saturday, running in a USATF all-comers meet in Colorado, Hall ran a reported time of 8.11 seconds -- under the 8.16 national record of Jacqueline Coward set in 2008.
Although the meet was timed using FAT, the 60 hurdles was the first race of the day and the timer missed the start of the race. The finish photo was used to establish the finish order but then hand times were added in. So that 8.11 is is a hand time.
However, the senior is expected to go after the record again over the next couple of weeks.
Hall ran to the silver medal last summer in the 100-meter hurdles at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Ukraine.
She is No. 2 all-time in the event with the 8.17 she ran last year. Hall upset Trinity Wilson to win the NBNI title in 2012 and then stumbled and placed seventh in the national finals last year. Her mother, Yolanda Johnson, is No. 2 on the all-time list in the 55-meter hurdles (7.54 coversion from a yards race in 1986).
Dior is slated to run at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs on Saturday.
