Elite mile fields assembled for NB Grand Prix in Boston
By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor US#1 girls miler Ryen Frazier of Ravencroft NC heads up the field for the elite high school race at the New Balance Grand Prix on Saturday in Boston. Frazier ran 4:41.56 last weekend at the Hilton Invite/Camel City Elite meet at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. She will be joined on the starting line by Marissa Sheva from Pennsylvania (US#2), Audrey Belf from Michigan, Sophie Cantine from Washington, Malia Ellington and Elly Henes from North Carolina, and Anna Flynn from New York. Top Massachusetts runners Kaley Richards, Olivia Lantz, Kaleigh Hughes, Emily DeMarco, and New Hampshire’s Shannon Murdock, are also in the field. The boys field includes hometown Massachusetts standouts P.J. Garmon, Thomas Ratcliffe and Nick Carleo taking on a group that includes Sam Ritz and Jaxon Hoey from Pennsylvania, Logan Wetzel from Michigan, Benito Muniz and Aidan Tooker from New York, and Jack Salisbury from Rhode Island. Wetezel is US#3 after placing third in 4:09.81 last weekend on the oversized track at Grand Valley State. A significant late addition was Myles Marshall from Texas, a 1:48.43 800-meter runner last year who recently flipped his commitment from Penn State to Harvard. More news |
