Century boys end Bismarck's reign
State Meet Highlights
Top Performances:
- Afure Adah of Fargo Shanley won the Class A 100 in 12.40 and also swept the hurdles with 15.07 in the 100 meters and 44.05 in the 300.
- Dakota Wood, senior from Hazen, won the Class B girls 300 hurdles in 44.10, the 110 hurdles in 14.71 and placed second in the 100 (12.37) and 200 (25.95). Hazen also won the 4x100 and 4x200 on the way to the team title.
- Freshman Beatrice Kjelland of Park River/FL/AE swept the 100 meters (12.26) and the 200 (25.47) in the Class B meet.
- Sophomore Peyton Froleck of Milnor/Wyndmere won the 800 meters (2:16.03), the 1,600 (5:08.40) and the 3,200 (11:16.57) in Class B.
- Kellemon Hinton from Ellendale won the Class B long jump with 22-8.50 and edged high jump champion Nolan Hovland of Rugby in the triple jump, 46-5.50 to 46-5.25.
Top Teams:
Top Competition: The shot put is strong in North Dakota and that was evident at the state meet. Jon Tharaldson of Bismarck threw US#12 62-11 to win the event again and he’s headed to the University of Minnesota. The girls competition landed three girls in the US top 100 – Akealy Moton of West Fargo with 47-2, Maggie Schwartzkopf of Century with US#90 44-3.50 and Keely Walker of West Fargo with 44-2.50. |
