Manchester Memorial, Kennedy break records
State Meet Highlights A week after the three division championships sort out team champions everyone returns a week later for the Meet of Champions and gets down to brass tacks to find out who’s really the best in New Hampshire. It’s a chance, for some, to focus on one event and get it right. The meet returned to Londonderry High School.
Top Performances:
- The Manchester Memorial boys 4x100 broke the all-time state record by running 42.51 for the win.
- Eli Moskowitz of Souhegan Coop, one of the stars of the epic 3,200 meters at Loucks, put his eggs into the 1,600 basket at MOC and ran ripped US#30 4:09.64.
- Sean Munnelly from Campbell was the Division 3 champion in the 800 meters but proved his mettle against the best in the state and ran 1:53.71 for his second consecutive title.
- Starlin Ortiz, a senior from Londonderry, won the boys 110 hurdles in 14.95 and also took the high jump with 6-8.
- Hannah Parker, a senior from Div 2 Coe-Brown, won the 800 meters in 2:08.16. She won the race by more than 12 seconds. She was also on the winning 4x800 relay team (9:20.38).
- Sophomore Corinne Kennedy of Lebanon broke her own all-time state record in the 300 hurdles with 43.27. She also won the 200 meters with a time of 25.36 and the 100 hurdles in 15.24
- Sophomore Kristie Schoffield of Merrimack Valley won the 400 meters in 56.39. She was also second in the 1,600 with 4:54.67.
- Oyster River junior Maegan Doody won the 1,600 meters in US#40 4:49.82 in a great race that also included Schoffield’s second-place finish (4:54.69) and defending champion Shannon Murdock’s 4:56.13 for third.
- Elisabeth Danis of Coe-Brown, a junior, ran 10:47.53 to win the girls 3,200 meters.
Top Teams: A week earlier, the Bedford girls and Nashua North boys sewed up the Division I team track titles.
