State Meet Highlights

North Carolina operates four classification championships on back to back weekends and there are separate championships for independent/private schools. And more so than in other states, it seems, the talent is spread through the various groups. The 3A and 4A schools went first, on May 9 and the 2A and 1A meet was a week later. All four classification championships are held at Greensboro on the same track where the NSAF hosts New Balance Nationals. The state’s biggest stars, Ravencroft’s Ryen Frazier and Providence Day's Anna Cockrell, did not compete within the state association.
