New year greets new changes for DyeStat

Welcome to the rebooted for 2016 DyeStat.

Over the past month many people have been working behind the scenes to bring you upgrades on the various components of the Home of High School Track and Field/Cross Country.

Let's start off by discussing the database. When RunnerSpace acquired Athletic.net last summer it opened a world of new possibilities for what we could do with DyeStat TFX, which has served us quite well for more than 10 years. The answer is that we have merged DyeStat and athletic.net databases to come up with one that is bigger and better than before.

The new database creates a profile for every athlete, not just the elites. It is easily searchable and can produce custom lists as well as the complete trustworthy rankings that we expect at DyeStat. You can check this out now via this url - http://www.athletic.net/tfx

Next, the homepages have been refreshed to be more attractive, easier to navigate, and best of all they are mobile and tablet friendly. These changes will allow users better access to our content no matter what device they are operating. The new pages will tie together the components of DyeStat -- including our regional sites for California, Illinois and Florida -- better than we've done it in the past and sets us up for future expansion.

In addition to these big changes, the entire scope of RunnerSpace news content has shifted under the umbrella of DyeStat. Our news coverage team will be working to provide fresh content -- features, videos, event coverage and news -- across the spectrum from high school to college (via DyeStatCOLLEGE.com) to pros (via DyeStatPRO.com). The high school and college levels will share a database home in our partnership with athletic.net, aka "TFX 3.0."

Since its founding with visionary John Dye, in 1995, as a regional performance list for Maryland coaches (went national in 1999), DyeStat has constantly been evolving. Our pledge is to keep covering and promoting the sport we love and always be on the lookout for ways to innovate and serve our community better.

Many PRs to all of you in 2016.

Doug Binder,
