Performance of the Week Poll, 6/27/16

There was only one major meet this weekend but it was a doozy. Many of the top preps in the country stepped up in the hot conditions in Clovis and delivered standout performances in order to make the U.S. Junior team. Please select your two favorites from the following list.

- Michael Norman, Vista Murrieta CA: The senior stormed away from the field in the 200 final at the USATF Junior National Championships to win in 20.15 to book his trip to World Juniors.

- Joy McArthur, Dana Hills CA: The sophomore only had two legal throws, but that was enough to win the hammer with a #2 all-time 203-8 (62.07m) at the USATF Junior National Championships.

- Tia Jones, George Walton Comp GA: The freshman broke the national record in the 100 hurdles prelims, running 12.84 at the USATF Junior National Championships. She finished second in the final, but still booked her ticket to World Juniors.

- Ja'mari Ward, Cahokia IL: The senior returned from a dislocated kneecap to win the long jump at the USATF Junior National Championships with a best jump of 25-8.75 (7.84m), breakings his own Illinois all-time record.

- Kate Murphy, Lake Braddock VA: The junior continued her stellar season with her 9:10.51 win in the 3,000 at the USATF Junior National Championships. That time makes her the #3 all-time high school performer.

- Samantha Watson, Rush-Henrietta NY: The junior held on for victory in the 800 meters in a new lifetime best 2:02.91 to make another U.S. team.

- Aaliyah Miller, McKinney Boyd TX: The senior took over three seconds off her personal best in the 800 to place second in the USATF Junior National Championships in 2:02.96, an Olympic Trials qualifier.

- Noah Lyles, TC Williams VA: The senior ran a wind-aided 10.08 100 to win the USATF Junior National Championships.

- Fiona O'Keefe, Davis CA: The senior ran the #6 all-time 5,000 at the USATF Junior National Championships to win in 15:56.84.

- Candace Hill: The ASICS pro ran an 11.09 100 in the prelims at the USATF Junior National Championships. She won the final in 11.24 to book her trip to World Juniors.

- Darius Carbin, Mt Pleasant CA: The senior cleared 7-3.25 (2.22m) in the high jump to win at the USATF Junior National Championships.

- Sydney McLaughlin, Union Catholic NJ: The junior continued her fantastic season, running just off her own national record in the 400 hurdles, winning in 54.54 at the USATF Junior National Championships.

- Katie Rainsberger, Air Academy CO: The senior finished second in the 3,000, but her time of 9:11.60 is #4 all-time and was good enough to qualify her for World Juniors.

- Harrison Schrage, Grant OR: The senior broke the Oregon state record in the long jump with his second place finish at the USATF Junior National Championships with a best jump of 25-3.25 (7.70m).

- Anna Cockrell, Providence Day NC: The senior moved up to #4 all-time in the 400 hurdles with her second place finish at the USATF Junior National Championships in 55.89, which betters the Olympic standard.

- Jayla Kirkland, Woodlawn AL: The junior made the U.S. team in both the 100 and 200 meters. She won the latter event in 23.16.
