Ryan Crouser: The 2016 Olympian started up where he left off last season, opening up with a mark of 72-4.25 (22.05m) at the Big Shot competition in Christchurch, New Zealand. He is now the outdoor world leader in the shot put. Tara Davis: The high school senior from Agoura CA had a big weekend at the Simplot Games in Pocatello, ID. She won the 60m hurdles (8.22), long jump (21-2.75/6.47m) and triple jump (41-8.25/12.70m). Her time in the hurdles places her as the US#8 all-time prep performer.. Mo Farah: The double 2016 Olympian champion from the U.K. ran his final indoor race f his career at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham, U.K., setting the European record for 5,000m with his 13:09.16. Jordan Geist: The high school senior from Knoch PA moved up to US#2 all-time in the boys shot put at the TSTCA Indoor Championships with a mark of 76-10.5 (23.43m). Katelynn Hart: The high school freshman from Glenbard West IL broke the freshmen class record in the girls 2-mile, running 10:21.41 at the UK HS Invite. She also won the mile in 4:54.30. Hoka NJ/NY TC Men: The quartet of Donn Cabral, Ford Palmer, Graham Crawford and Kyle Merber set a new world indoor best in the 4 x mile relay at the inaugural Artie O'Connor Invitational at The Armory with a time of 16:12.81. The IAAF does not recognize the indoor 4 x mile event as a record event. Sydney McLaughlin: The 2016 Olympian and Union Catholic NJ senior broke the high school record in the 300m at the inaugural Artie O'Connor Invitational at The Armory with a time of 36.82. Laura Muir: The 2016 Olympian from the U.K. has been dominant in the 2017 indoor season. She already holds the world leading marks in the 3,000m and 5,000m. On Saturday at the the Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham, U.K., Muir showed her range by winning the 1,000m in 2:31.93, making her the second fastest performer ever in the event. Elaine Thompson:The double 2016 Olympian champion from Jamaica shot to victory in the 60m at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham, U.K., with a time of 6.98. That is a world lead and makes her the #7 performer all-time. Kendal Williams: The Georgia Bulldogs sophomore stormed to victory in the 60m at the Clemson Last Chance Indoor Invitational with time of 6.51. That ties the collegiate lead. More news |
