Ole Miss middle distance star Craig Engels joins Nike Oregon ProjectBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor Craig Engels made a name for himself at Ole Miss with both for his hair style and running ability. Having already signed with Nike during the USATF Outdoor Championships, Engels is now bringing his talents to the Nike Oregon Project. The announcement was made via Twitter with Engels posing next to Galen Rupp, who is wearing a mullet wig and a fake mustache. Engels experienced a breakout year in 2016. He was seventh in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships. Engels went on to finish fifth in the 1,500-meter final and fourth in the 800-meter final at the U.S. Olympic Trials. In 2017, Engels finished third at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships in the 1,500. Then at the USATF Outdoor Championships, he finished fourth by .02 seconds, just outside the qualifying for the IAAF World Outdoor Championships team. Engels has personal bests of 1:46.03 for 800 and 3:37.66 for 1,500. More news |
