Keni Harrison Runs World Lead 100-Meter Hurdles in HungaryPublished by
Keni Harrison and Omar McLeod Win Sprint-Hurdle Races at Istvan Gyulai Memorial in HungaryBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor There is no doubt that Keni Harrison has recovered from a broken hand sustained in warm-ups for the Doha Diamond League meeting. She won the 100-meter hurdles Tuesday at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial meeting in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, in a world-leading 12.28 (results). This was not Harrison's first race back. She won the USATF Outdoor Championships title in 12.60 in Sacramento. However, this was the first race this season where Harrison showed the kind of form that carried her to the world record last year. Also in action in Hungary was Omar McLeod. The 2016 Olympic champion over the 110-meter hurdles from Jamaica bounced back from a poor performance in Paris on Saturday, winning in 12.96, the #2 time in the world this year (results). There was some concern after the Paris Diamond League meeting when McLeod faded over the final few hurdles and was attended to by medical staff on the track. According to Raymond Graham of the Gleaner, McLeod suffered from muscle cramps in Paris. Clearly there is no lasting damage. More news |
