3 (3). Dylan Jacobs, senior, Carl Sandburg IL: He has a chance to do something special Saturday at Detweiler Park. He beat Danny Kilrea by 12 seconds at the Hinsdale Central Sectional.

4 (5). James Mwaura, senior, Lincoln WA: He won the Westside Classic by 28 seconds; state meet is Saturday in Pasco.

5 (6). Aidan Troutner, senior, Timpview UT: He ran the second-fastest performance ever at the Utah state meet.

6 (4). Danny Kilrea, senior, Lyons Township IL: He gets a rematch with Dylan Jacobs on Saturday at Detweiler Park with the state title on the line.

7 (7). Gabe Fendel, senior, Hamilton Southeastern IN: He won the Indiana state title by less than three seconds.

8 (8). Zach Kreft, senior, Buckeye Valley OH: He'll seek his second Ohio Division 2 title Saturday.

9 (10). Derick Peters, senior, West Central SD: He won his South Dakota state meet race by 52 seconds.

10 (9). Dustin Horter, senior, Lakota East OH: He will try to win his second Ohio Division 1 title on Saturday and perhaps run faster than Kreft.

11 (13). Mason Gatewood, senior, St. Anthony’s NY: He will be a big favorite to win the CHSAA title.

12 (14). Dalton Hengst, senior, McDonogh School MD: The Maryland and DC Private School Championships are still two weekends away.

13 (17). Meika Beaudoin-Rousseau, senior, Bellarmine Prep CA: He produced the fastest time at Mt. SAC this year, with 14:33.

14 (12). Drew Thompson, senior, Fairfield Prep CT: Already the Class LL champion, he has the Connecticut State Open on Friday.

15 (15). Joshua Schumacher, senior, Jesuit OR: He ran 15:24 to repeat as Metro League champion. The Oregon state meet is Saturday.

16 (19). Graydon Morris, sophomore, Aledo TX: He ran 14:40 to win the 5A Region 1 meet.

17 (11). Justin Hazell, senior, El Camino Real CA: He didn’t have his best day at Mt. SAC but remains a factor for the CIF Division 1 crown.

18 (16). Liam Anderson, junior, Redwood CA: He stripped 30 seconds off his Mt. SAC time from 2016.

19 (18). Michael Phillips, senior, Lawton Chiles FL: He is cruising toward the Florida state meet on Nov. 11.

20 (20). Drew Bosley, junior, Homestead WI: He won the Wisconsin D1 state title.

21 (21). Grant Gardner, junior, Springville UT: He was second in the Utah 5A state final.

22 (28). Cole Hocker, junior, Indianapolis Cathedral IN: He finished second to Gabe Fendel at the Indiana state meet.

23 (NR). Nathan Lawler, senior, Pittsford Mendon NY: He won the Monroe County Championship in 14:57.8 (3miles).

24 (22). Sam Affolder, junior, Loudoun Valley VA: He is getting ready for the VHSL Championship next week.

25 (23). Carter Cheeseman, junior, Forth Worth Christian TX: He won the TAPPS 5A title in Texas by 45 seconds.

26 (NR). Tyler Spencer, senior, Eleanor Roosevelt CA: He ran 15:08 to win the Big VIII League finals Wednesday.

27 (25). Ryan Raff, senior, Lehi UT: He won the Utah Class 4A title.

28 (26). Daniel Maton, junior, Camas WA: He is running well heading into the Washington state meet.

29 (27). Jacob McLeod, senior, Trinity Christian GA: He won the GISA title last weekend.

30 (29). Cameron Ponder, senior, Mount Tabor NC: He won his regional race in 15:34.
