Tuohy hit historic level during 2017 XC season

Katelyn Tuohy or Claudia Lane. Claudia Lane or Katelyn Tuohy. The two national championship races failed to capture the biggest matchup of the season, but there was little question that Tuohy’s record-breaking run at Nike Cross Nationals was a little bit better than Claudia Lane’s run for a second straight Foot Locker title. Tuohy might have produced the finest season ever by a New Yorker. Lane may have done the same by a Californian. They were both extraordinary throughout the season.

And the good news for high school running fans is that there is a chance that these two could meet up sometime in the 2018 season for an event that might be the Race of the Decade.

Note: The final rankings are heavily weighted on the outcomes of the two national championship meets, Foot Locker and NXN. Consideration was also given to state and regional performances.
