Scottish 800-Meter Runner Lynsey Sharp Moving to CaliforniaBy Adam Kopet Lynsey Sharp, the Scottish 800-meter runner, is moving to California to be closer to her coach, Terrence Mahon, according to Athletics Weekly. Sharp began working with Mahon while he was a coach with UK Athletics. Since then, he has headed the Boston Athletic Association's team, but he is moving back to California this winter with his wife, three-time Olympian Jen Rhines. Sharp will be making the move with her boyfriend, and fellow Scottish runner, Andrew Butchart. After five years in Loughborough, a city about 35 miles northeast of Birmingham in the UK, Sharp is looking for a change of scenery. Sharp finished sixth in the 800 meters at the 2016 Olympics. She was eighth at this year's IAAF World Outdoor Championships. She is targeting the IAAF World Indoor Championships and the Commonwealth Games in 2018. More news |
