Speed Shines in This Week's Performance of the Week List

It was another busy weekend for track and field fans. Track and Field meets across the country provided some startling performances, from the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational to the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. And the brand new Dunamis Sports Group Indoor Super Meet provided four days of high school, college and open competition. In all, we saw an American record, two collegiate records, two freshman class records and multiple all-time performances. View the choices and vote for this week's DyeStat Performance of the Week!

Fancy Chemutai: The Kenyan distance runner won the RAK Half Marathon, finishing one second off the world record, running 1:04:52.

Edward Cheserek: The first-year pro ran the world #2 all-time mile at the Valentine Invitational and became the fourth man to break 3:50 indoors with his time of 3:49.44. He followed that performance the next day by winning the 3,000 meters at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in 7:38.74.

Tyrese Cooper: The high school junior from Miami Norland FL swept the 60, 200 and 400 meters at the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic, running US#6 6.83, US#4 21.38 and US#1 47.55, respectively.

Tamari Davis: The high school freshman from Gainesville FL broke the freshman class national records in the 60 and 200 meters at the Dunamis Sports Group Indoor Super Meet, running 7.30 and 23.42 respectively.

Maggie Ewen: The Arizona State senior won the shot put at the Don Kirby Elite with a collegiate #3 all-time and US #7 all-time 63-0 (19.20m). She also won the weight throw with a mark of 73-0.5 (22.26m).

Keni Harrison: The American hurdler tied the American record in the 60-meter hurdles at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational, running 7.72 to equal the #3 all-time performer.

Grant Holloway: The Florida sophomore took down the collegiate record in the 60-meter hurdles at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational, running 7.42 to equal the #17 all-time performer.

Tia Jones: The high school junior from George Walton Comprehensive GA won the 60-meter hurdles at the Dunamis Sports Group Indoor Super Meet in 8.15, making her the #6 prep performer of all-time.

Arria Minor: The high school junior from Denver East CO swept the 60, 200 and 400 meters at the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic, running 7.41, 23.72 and US#2 53.80, respectively.

Janeah Stewart: The Ole Miss senior moved up to #3 on the collegiate all-time list in the weight throw with her mark of 79-1.75 (24.12m) at the Music City Challenge.

Vernon Turner: The Oklahoma freshman equaled the mark of the collegiate #4 all-time performer with his clearance of 7-7.75 (2.33m) at the Tyson Invitational

USC Men: The quartet of Zach ShinnickRai BenjaminRicky Morgan, Jr. and Michael Norman ran a collegiate record 3:01.98 in the 4x400 relay, the second-fastest indoor time in history at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational. Norman also ran 45.00 in the 400, making him the #5 all-time collegiate performer.
