Davis, Williams run sensational sprint times at Bob Hayes

Coming on the heels of her two indoor national titles last week, Gainesville FL freshman Tamari Davis got off to a great start to the outdoor season on Saturday, matching Bianca Knight's national freshman class national record in the 200 meters by clocking 23.06 seconds at the Bob Hayes Invitational.

But Davis wasn't the only one to stand out.

Briana Williams, a sophomore at Northeast (Oakland Park), ran a wind-legal 11.13 (1.7w) to win the 100-meter dash.

Williams, who competed at the Carifta trials in Jamaica last year and is trained by Ato Boldon, broke the World 15-under age group record of 11.17 set in 1991 by Marion Jones and matched the No. 5 prep performance all-time.

Thomas Burns of Miami Northwestern established a new national leading time in the 300-meter hurdles with 36.56 seconds.
