National Boys High School Team Rankings - 10/11Published by
Top Boys Teams All Holding Steady By Paul Schmitz of DyeStat Loudoun Valley VA, Fayetteville-Manlius NY, American Fork UT and Great Oak CA maintain the No. 1-4 spots and have not budged in the past two weeks. Wheaton Warrenville South IL slides up one to No. 5 and Christian Brothers Academy NJ and Kamiakin WA each move up two spots to No. 6 and No. 7. The top tier of four continue to be the odds-on title contenders with WWS and CBA the nearest teams to that tier with consistent and undefeated seasons. New to the rankings is preseason New York Regional No. 5 Smithtown West NY, which is coming off a nice second-place finish at the McQuaid Invitational behind No. 15 Dana Hills CA and ahead of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake NY and Corning-Painted Post NY. West Ranch CA also debuts in the top 30 after a third-place finish at the ASICS Clovis Invitational. West Ranch finished behind No. 4 Great Oak CA and No. 11 Newbury Park CA and defeated the same Dana Hills team that took the title the previous week in New York. Dana Hills demonstrated resilience by running in two huge meets in back-to-back weeks on opposite ends of the coast. The Dolphins' performance at McQuaid is a much better representation of the potential of this team and look for a bounce back performance the next time they run in California. The Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, N.C., highlighted some of the top teams in the Southeast and Northeast regions. The Southeast took the top two spots as Loudoun Valley VA came away with a decisive victory. The Bolles School FL demonstrated it deserved its preseason No. 11 ranking with a second-place finish and bumped up to No. 9 this week. Bishop Hendricken RI led the Northeast teams with a third-place finish and move up two spots to No. 12. Boys Top 30 5. Wheaton Warrenville South IL 6. Christian Brothers Academy NJ |
