Sioux Falls boys, girls win South Dakota AA titles

Sioux Falls Lincoln swept the Class AA team titles on Saturday at the South Dakota state championship meet. 

Aaron Ryan of Aberdeen Central ran 15:31.73 to win the individual title, but Lincoln went 2-3-4-6-7 behind him to register a team score of 22 points. Defending champion Jack Elliott of Lincoln finished third.

RESULTS

On the girls side, Analise Levesque led Lincoln to the team title (68 points) with her individual victory in 18:11.97. 

In Class A, Custer swept the team championships. Alec Atwood of Beresford ran 16:07.84 to win the boys race. Ella Byers of Chamberlain won the girls race in 18:22.78. 

The Deubrook Area girls (29) points and James Valley Christian boys (44) won the Class B team titles. The boys race was fiercely competitive. JVC won a sixth-man tiebreaker with Warner to claim the victory and Newell was third just a point behind. 

Jolie Dugan of Jones County (19:12.63) won the Class B girls race. Cody Larson of Warner 16:32.14 got the individual title in the boys race.
