Led by freshman Nate Jaster's fifth-place finish (15:54.06), Wedding place all five scorers in the top 17.

East Chapel Hill senior George Hotelling won the individual title in 15:46.9.

Cardinal Gibbons won its ninth straight Class 4A girls title, led by senior Katharine Priu’s third place finish (18:05.7). Gibbons put three runners in the top 10.

Pinecrest sophomore Carmen Alder, who was second at Great American, won the race in 17:50.6.

In the girls 3A race, Cuthbertson sophomore Madeline Hill led her team to a state title as she won the race in 18:11.52. Cuthbertson scored 47 points and put all five scorers in the top 25.
