Big weekend coming up for high school track, headlined by the Simplot Games in Idaho and the Los Angeles Invitational in Southern Cal. DyeStat will be on the scene at each to bring you results, highlights, and photos -- John Dye in Idaho and Doug Speck in California.  

There will also be plenty going on in the rest of the country with the Pennsylvania Meet of Champions, the CHSAA and PSAL championships in New York, the Kentucky High School Invitational, the Volunteer Classic in Tennessee, and myriad other state meets.

NIC previews hot 400 meter fields - Luster, Ewers, Walton, Hogans, Demus, Fairley, Staten, Aiken, George will do battle at Nike Indoor Classic in  Bloomington IN.

Molly Lederman raises US girls PV record again, to 12-9.5! - PTFCA Carnival (PA) - Winter XC Nationals (Shalane Flanagan) - DyeStat Elite update - State Meet action in CT (Simpson 6.33 US#1), NJ, DC, NH - NY Mayor's Trophy (Damian Drummond lights it up again)

US Cross Country Nationals, Greensboro NC - Shalane Flanagan, (left, in red) fresh from easy victory in Millrose Mile in  New York a week earlier, beats Stanford freshmen Erin Sullivan (433) and Lauren Fleshman at 6k distance.  College freshmen dominate junior men's 8k, won by Franklyn Sanchez in 25:35.  Kevin Clary, Kalispell MT,  is highest finishing present high schooler at 9th in 27:00.
  Adam Goucher and Deena Drossin win both distances for seniors.

The pace of big interstate meets slowed this weekend as athletes turn their attention to state championships, but the pace of hot action continued to sizzle.  Click on underlined links for details.

    sizzling soph Molly Lederman broke the US girls pole vault record again with a leap of 12-9.5 (Samantha Shepard 12-6.25, her 2nd best ever)

    Don Rich says we are at the "these meets count" stage, and the results showed it.  Season best performances across the board.  Kevin Dare 15-7; Sean Duffy beats Dan Coval in 4:20 mile; Cheryl Smith 2:17.69; Natasha Staten 56.36; Troy Roberson 22.31; Dominique Darden 25.29; William Penn girls sweep relays
