6:27.16 Mile Record for 75 years old

All right, it's not high school, but it's interesting for runners of any age.
Dr. John Hosner of Blacksburg, Virginia set a new world indoor mile record for the 75-year old age group 2/26/00 in conjunction with the Last Chance Meet at Virginia Tech.

With a few hundred of his friends, family, and colleagues attending, the retired forestry professor,  who turned 75 years old the day before, smashed the world record of 6:42.03 by running 6:27.16 in front of his hometown crowd. With the meet announcer calling his needed splits lap-by-lap the crowd would respond with a tremendous roar. His 45.08 last 200m sealed the record.  Hosner's splits:

Split 1 (The first split is longer than 200m because it makes up the difference between the start/finish line for the Mile) 47.13
Lap 2 (200m) 46.23
Lap 3 (200m) 49.12
Lap 4 (200m) 50.67
Lap 5 (200m) 50.65
Lap 6 (200m) 49.94
Lap 7 (200m) 48.34
Lap 8 (200m) 45.08

Regina Jacobs will use the Eastern States HS meet at the New York Armory Feb 29 as a stage for an effort to become the first woman under 4:00 indoors for 1500 meters.  This would break the world record of 4:00.27 by Doina Melinte and the US record of 4:00.8 by Mary Slaney.
