Latest News
Hey, coach, do you know what your kids are doing this summer?
Jeff Arbogast, coach of the highly successful Bingham UT teams, knows -- they are out in the mountains running.  Above are jr Stacie Grover  and sr Matt Haberman in a weekly run at Alta UT.  They are running in Arbogast's "Summer Prep macrocycle" along with summer trainers from other regions of the US.  Coach Arbogast said, "Training is going spectacularly well as we prepare for the 2000 season as the best ever in the history of [Bingham]."

Best ever?  If it's more than usual coach's optimism, that would be something.  Last year's Bingham girls were hailed as the best in US prep history and three girls graduated.  Stacie Grover is part of Arbogast's  "reloading" operation.  We will see how successful the operation is when Bingham comes down from the mountain and travels East to Charlotte in September to defend their Race of Champions title in the Great American Cross Country Festival.

DyeStat Elite update -

Summertime . . .

. . . and the living is easy. Well, it may be summer, but DyeStat is not on vacation. Here are some of the interesting things we are working on:

  • DyeStat All American team -- our selections of the most outstanding performers of the year.

  • Youth Section -- news of the Junior Olympics championships and other major age-graded meets

  • Cross Country section -- it's not too early to start thinking of September and the big meets to come: Great American, Mt. Sac, Manhattan, and Foot Locker.

  • Best Marks of the Post Season -- special lists of all the DyeStat Elite performances at the big post-season meets -- Golden West, Foot Locker Outdoor, Great Southwest, Junior Nationals, Golden South -- plus a comparison of the two national HS meets, GWI and FLO.

  • DyeStat Elite -- the 100-deep outdoor rankings will be updated soon for the post season meets and again to include all the state meets for final season rankings. (We got diverted for obvious reasons since the last update on May 31.) This season's rankings will come from our unrivalled database of 10,000 performances.

  • DyeStat YearBook 2000 -- the most incredible collection available anywhere of results, rankings, and photos on HS track & field & cross country, all in a fold-flat book for easy reference. There may even be a CD ROM edition with videos.

  • DyeStat T-shirts -- available soon in DyeStat's own section of the Rivals on-line e-commerce store.

  • Videos -- more video clips from the great meets of the year.

  • College Choices -- the NCAA signing period continues until August, and the emails are still pouring in. We should end up with about 1,500 names.

So stay tuned and enjoy, along with whatever else you are doing this summer.
