The 2025 Novuna London Athletics Meet is set to light up the capital this Saturday, July 19, as the world’s top track and field athletes descend upon the London Stadium for what promises to be one of the most star-studded one-day meets in Diamond League history. With 60,000 fans expected to fill the stands at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the meet marks a critical stop just weeks before the Paris Olympics—bringing together reigning world champions, Olympic medalists, and the sport’s biggest personalities.

All eyes will be on the men’s 100m, where world champion Noah Lyles makes his return to the short dash against a deep field featuring fellow sub-9.80 man Oblique Seville, British star Zharnel Hughes, South Africa’s Akani Simbine and the Paris 200m Champ Letsile Tebogo. In the men’s 800m, Emmanuel Wanyonyi looks to extend his hot streak after a stunning 1:41.44 in Monaco, but he'll face a fierce challenge from world champ Marco Arop, American veterans Bryce Hoppel and Donavan Brazier, and Great Britain’s own Max Burgin and Ben Pattison.

The men’s 1500m may be the most anticipated race of the day. Olympic champion Josh Kerr returns to home soil to face off against a stacked field that includes fellow Brit Jake Wightman, rising Aussie Cameron Myers, Kenya’s Phanuel Koech—who recently clocked 3:27.72—and global contenders like Ollie Hoare, Neil Gourley, and Isaac Nader. Expect a tactical war—or a sub-3:29 drag race.

In the women’s events, the 200m sprint features a heavyweight clash between Julien Alfred, Dina Asher-Smith, Rhasidat Adeleke, and Brittany Brown, all with Olympic medal potential. The women’s 800m is similarly stacked, with a world-class field led by Jemma Reekie, Laura Muir, Addison Wiley, and Natoya Goule-Toppin, as well as Georgia Bell fresh off a lifetime best.

The women’s mile could deliver fireworks, as Sifan Hassan returns to the track to face Gudaf Tsegay, Jessica Hull, Birke Haylom, and a deep British contingent including Katie Snowden, Georgia Bell, and Sophie O’Sullivan. With the depth of the field and fast pacing, the meet record—and possibly the world record—could be under threat.

The women’s 5000m offers another Ethiopian-Kenyan showdown, with Medina Eisa, Fantaye Belayneh, and Chaltu Dida taking on Margaret Akidor and Italy’s Nadia Battocletti, while British teen Innes Fitzgerald looks to cement her Olympic credentials.

In the hurdles, Femke Bol headlines the women’s 400m hurdles and looks to fine-tune her form ahead of Paris, taking on Jamaicans Andrenette Knight, Rushell Clayton, and Shiann Salmon, along with American Anna Cockrell and Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad.

The field events are no less loaded. In the men’s long jump, Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou leads a deep field including Mattia Furlani, Tajay Gayle, Wayne Pinnock, and Simon Ehammer, while the men’s discus features the latest chapter of the ongoing rivalry between Mykolas Alekna, Kristjan Čeh, Daniel Ståhl, and Roje Stona. The women’s pole vault brings together Olympic champion Katie Moon, British record-holder Molly Caudery, and world leader Angelica Moser, while the high jump features world champ Yaroslava Mahuchikh against a loaded international field.

With global stars, fierce national rivalries, and Olympic selection pressure at a boiling point, the London Diamond League promises unforgettable moments in one of track and field’s most iconic venues. This isn’t just a preview of Paris—this is the final dress rehearsal.
