EUGENE -- Oregon junior Rachel Yurkovich tried to play it cool afterward, doing her best to keep her focus on the upcoming months.

Ducks teammate Ashley McCrea knew better. As soon as Yurkovich's school-record mark of 191 feet, 1 inch in the javelin was announced Friday, McCrea saw the significance of the moment sink in for her close friend.

"She had tears in her eyes," McCrea said. "It was very emotional. It's nice to see because she works so hard and deserves this."
