Nick Willis Took to Twitter to Challenge Matthew Centrowitz to Race in Wanamaker Mile

Nick Willis challenged Matthew Centrowitz to race him in this winter's Wanamaker Mile on Twitter this week.

The pair raced to the wire in the Wanamaker Mile, part of the NYRR Millrose Games, in 2015 and 2016. Centrowitz took the title both times.

Centrowitz accepted the challenge, posting a picture of him holding the Wanamaker Mile trophy.

The NYRR Millrose Games are scheduled for Feb. 3.

Centrowitz is in New York this week for the USATF Black Tie and Sneakers Gala, but he has pulled out of Saturday's Abbott Dash to the Finish Line/ USATF 5K Championships due to a sore leg.
