Bernard Lagat breaks American indoor 5,000 record: 13:11.50; Galen Rupp 4th in 13:14.21

In a close race in Boston Saturday, Bernard Lagat squeezed ahead of two Ethiopians — Dejan Gebremeskel and Bekana Daba — to win a much anticipated showdown in the 5,000 meters at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games. In doing so, he broke the American record.
