Kyle Merber from the HOKA ONE ONE NJNY TC came to Portland thinking he needed to chase a qualifying time to get into the USATF Outdoor Championships, but instead found out that his best mile time of the season did the trick. He ran 3:41.23 for sixth place in Friday's 1,500 meters at the Stumptown Twilight.
