Tyra Gittens, a junior at Texas A&M, won the women's heptathlon with 6,285 points at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Gittens also finished second in the long jump with a 21-11 (6.68m) effort and placed third in the high jump, clearing 6-1.50 (1.87m), accounting for 24 points for the Aggies, who took runner-up overall with 63 points. Gittens, representing Trinidad and Tobago, also became the first female athlete to sweep the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon championships since Kendell Williams of Georgia in 2017.
