Rachel Schneider, an Under Armour professional athlete representing Dark Sky Distance Team and training in Flagstaff, Ariz., won the women's title in the USATF 1 Mile Road Championships presented by Toyota, clocking 4:30.26 to prevail ahead of Shannon Osika (4:31.27) competing on the streets of Des Moines and finishing on the Blue Oval at Jim Duncan Track at Drake Stadium. Schneider had finished second in 2010 at the USATF Junior Championships in the 1,500 in Des Moines, as well as runner-up in the 5,000 at the USATF Outdoor Championships in 2018 on Jim Duncan Track, before securing the national title Wednesday.
