Texas A&M sophomore teammates Katelyn Fairchild and Lianna Davidson, representing Australia, placed third and sixth, respectively, in the women's javelin throw at the NCAA Division 1 West Regional at Sacramento State. Fairchild produced a personal-best 184 feet (56.08m) on her opening-round attempt, with Davidson achieving a second-round mark of 182-3 (55.56m), as both athletes secured berths to compete in the June 8 final at the Division 1 championship meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. Fairchild and Davidson finished 15th and 16th last season at the NCAA final at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., both throwing 170-7.
