Leah Phillips of Bullis MD and Comets of Charles County was one of the country's top sophomore hurdlers all season and finished with a big PR of 13.68 to take second in the 15-16 girls 100-meter hurdles, before winning the 400 hurdles in 1:00.57 after running a personal-best 59.50 in the prelims. Phillips is the only 15-16 female athlete in meet history to run under 14 seconds in the 100 hurdles and sub-60 in the 400 hurdles in the same year.
