Sam Atkin, a British professional athlete, won the men's elite 3,000 meters in 7:46.79 at the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Atkin became one of only seven male athletes to run sub-7:50 at Camel City and elevated to No. 2 in meet history, trailing only the 7:45.49 effort in 2017 from American Paul Chelimo. He led three competitors under 7:50, the most in any year in meet history.
