Trisha Hawthorne felt a tug behind her leg. She recognized that feeling. Her hamstring was sending her a message that something bad was about to happen.

Selfish hamstring. It didn’t care that she made the under-23 Jamaican national team. It didn’t care that she was at the tail end of the best season of her life.
