NASHVILLE - Lipscomb Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Nick Polk has announced updates to the track and field staff. The Bisons have promoted Marcus Evans to Associate Head Coach for Track and Field and have hired Warren Bye as an Assistant Track and Field Coach. Bye joins the Purple and Gold after a 16-year coaching career that most recently featured a 13-year stint as the head track and field coach at South Florida. “We are very excited to be able to welcome Coach Bye to Lipscomb University,” Polk said. “To be able to hire a coach of his caliber speaks highly to the attractiveness of this university and the exciting future ahead for our track and field program. “As a staff, we can all learn a great deal from Coach Bye. Our student-athletes will certainly be the beneficiaries of his wealth of track & field knowledge.” Prior to his distinguished tenure at USF, Bye was at the helm of the Louisville track and field programs. Evans, who has been with the program for nearly a decade, will continue his work with the Lipscomb track and field squads while being promoted into the new position. “Coach Evans has served Lipscomb University well in many facets and has been a leader in this program for over eight years,” Polk said. “He has done a wonderful job of developing our student-athletes to be their best spiritually, academically, and athletically. “We are excited to be able to promote him to reflect the great work that he has already done and allow him continue to allow him to grow in his responsibilities at Lipscomb.” Read the full article at: www.lipscombsports.com
