Jarra Owens runs US#1 55.19 at TX A&M

Here are a collection of the meet highlights from the Texas A&M High School Classic:


Friday


- Briyahna Derosiers of North Lawndale Charter IL put up a breakthrough US#1 55.50 in the prelims. The finals are Saturday. Her time was a meet record. 


- Danyel White of Cedar Hill TX ran US#1 24.44 in qualifying of the 200 meters. 


- Devante Lacy of Klein Oak TX ran US#2 21.95 in qualifying of the 200 meters. 


- In the boys shot put, Felipe Valencia of Palmview TX scored a meet record with US#2 63-6. 


- In the girls triple jump, Asa Garcia of Texas City TX won the girls event with US#3 39-3.


- Kaylon Sellers of Ozen TX leaped US#7 46-4 in the boys triple jump.


- In a very good girls pole vault competition, Meagan Gray of Hays TX edged Nicole Summersett of Westlake TX as both jumped US#4 12-8.25. 

 

Saturday:

 

- Alexis Duncan of DeSoto broke a meet record with her 8.51 clocking in the 60 hurdles, believed to be US#2 currently as Dior Hall ran 8.28 in Colorado.

 

- Keshun Reed of Martin TX ran 49.29 to win the 400 meters, good for US#14.

 

- Isaiah Johnson of Rudder TX ran 8.12 for US#4 in the boys 60-meter hurdles.

 

- Jarra Owens of Fort Bend Bush beat preliminary leader Briahna Derosiers and posted a new US#1 with 55.19.

 

- Chris Lewis of Lakeside LA won the boys 60 in US#5 6.87.

 

- I'Shunique Hamilton of Cedar Hill TX won the girls 60 with US#2 7.53.
