Trio of Class of 2017 High School Girls Set for U.S. IndoorsPublished by
Watson, Davis and Hill on U.S. Indoor start lists By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Three prominent high school athletes are entered in the USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend in Albuquerque, N.M. Samantha Watson of Rush-Henrietta NY will compete in the 1,000 meters at U.S. Indoors rather than go to the New York indoor state championships at Ocean Breeze on Staten Island. Watson has broken indoor high school national records in the 600 and 800 this winter. Tara Davis of Agoura CA, who earlier broke the national high school and American Junior records in the long jump, will try to go even further than her best of 21-11 in the thin air of Albuquerque. She is also entered in the 60-meter hurdles. And Candace Hill of Rockdale County GA, still a high school senior although in her second year as a professional, is on the start list for the 60-meter dash and 300. More news |
