Noah Lyles and Five Olympic and World Champions Added to adidas Boost Boston Games

Noah Lyles has been announced to compete June 4 at the adidas Boost Boston Games on the streets of Boston.

Lyles became the fourth teenager to break 20 seconds for 200 meters Saturday when he won the event at the Shanghai Diamond League meeting in 19.90. That ties him for the world lead.

In the past year, Lyles has finished on or near the podium in several high-profile events. At the U.S. Olympic Trials, he finished fourth in the 200, missing the Olympic team by 0.09 seconds. He went on to win the 100 meters at the IAAF World U20 Championships.

While in Poland for those championships, Lyles announced he and his brother, Josephus, had signed a professional contract with adidas, giving up the chance to compete collegiately at Florida. In his first professional championships, Lyles won the 300 meters at the USATF Indoor Championships in a world record time of 31.87.

Five other athletes have been added to the adidas Boost Boston Games, all of them either Olympic or World Champions.

Sally Pearson of Australia won World and Olympic titles in 2011 and 2012 in the 100-meter hurdles. Last month she won her eighth national title.

Jenn Suhr won the gold medal in the pole vault at the 2012 Olympics. She also won gold at the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland.

Yohan Blake of Jamaica has won multiple titles in the 4x100 relay. He won individual gold in the 100 meters at the 2011 IAAF World Championships.

Natasha Hastings has won two Olympic golds and seven World Championship golds in the 4x400 relay. She also captured the bronze medal at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships over 400 meters.

Danielle Williams of Jamaica won the 100-meter hurdles at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing. She was also the 2015 World University Games champion in the same event.

The adidas Boost Boston Games take place on the streets of Boston. On June 2, various distance events will be held at Dilboy Memorial Stadium.
