Flanagan returning to the marathon this fall in NYC

Four-time Olympian Shalane Flanagan will get back to the streets of the five boroughs this fall when she races at the TCS New York Marathon, according to a report in USA Today.

Flanagan, 36, has taken some much needed time off in 2017. That included a 10-week break from running to pursue other interests and recharge. The 2008 Olympic silver medalist -- we can say that now that she has been upgraded -- ran to second place in New York in 2010.
