Edward Cheserek Wins First Pro Race at Silicon Valley Turkey Trot

Edward Cheserek won his first professional race Thursday at the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot.

RESULTS

Cheserek won the elite 5-kilometer race in 13:38, four seconds clear of the field.

Cheserek turned professional this year after a record-breaking career at Oregon that came to an early end due to an injury sustained late in his senior track season. He finished his career with the NCAA indoor mile record (3:52.01) and the record for most NCAA championships (17).

Emmanuel Bor was the top American finisher in third place with a time of 13:43.
