Pole Vault and Distance Performances Highlight This Week's Performance of the Week List

What a week. We saw an American record, a world U20 record, a high school record, as well as numerous top world-leading performances. The UCS Spirit Pole Vault Summit, Great Edinburgh XCountry International Challenge and the Aramco Houston Half Marathon all provided top performances. Mikiah Brisco: The LSU senior ran a collegiate-leading 7.15 for 60 meters at the Corky Classic at Texas Tech, winning over teammate Aleia Hobbs by 0.06 seconds.

Kelsey Chmiel: The high school junior from Saratoga Springs NY won the junior women's race at the Great Edinburgh XCountry International Challenge, running running 14:10 for 4K to become the first American to win the U20 race since 2015.

Mondo Duplantis: The high school senior from Lafayette LA won the elite men's competition at the UCS Spirit Pole Vault Summit with a world U20 indoor record 19-1.5 (5.83m). He held the world lead for two days.

Maggie Ewen: The Arizona State senior won the shot put at Friday Night Duals at Arizona with a one-foot personal best and world-leading 60-6 (18.44m). She also finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 68-2.25 (20.78m).

Olivia Gruver: The Kentucky junior won the pole vault at the Kentucky Invitational with a collegiate-leading 15-1 (4.60m) clearance, which ranks No. 4 in the world. She took three failed attempts at breaking the collegiate record at 15-7.25 (4.76m).

Molly Huddle: The American distance star broke three American records at the Aramco Houston Half Marathon on her way to a seventh place finish. She passed 10 miles in 50:52, 20 kilometers in 1:03:48 and completed the half marathon in 1:07:25.

Danny Kilrea: The high school senior from Lyons Township IL finished fourth as the top American in the junior men's race at the Great Edinburgh XCountry International Challenge, running 19:24 for 6K.

Leonard Korir: The American distance runner won the men's senior race at Great Edinburgh XCountry International Challenge for the second straight year, running 24:32 for 8K.

Renaud Lavillenie: The French pole vaulter opened his season in Tignes with a world-leading 19-0.75 (5.81m) clearance, his best opener in four years. After losing his world lead to Duplantis, he regained it Sunday with a clearance of 19-2.75 (5.86m).

CJ Licata: The high school senior from Gill St. Bernard's NJ won the shot put at the Molloy Stanner Games with a US#1 64-5.5 (19.64m).

Sandi Morris: The World and Olympic silver medalist jumped a world-leading 16-0.75 (4.90m) to win the elite competition at the UCS Spirit Pole Vault Summit, her best since 2016.

Michael Saruni: The UTEP sophomore ran a world- and collegiate-leading 1:45.92 for 800 meters on the oversized track at Vanderbilt at the Commodore Invitational, winning by over two seconds.
